Meet the Goodwins



Jess is an author, freelance writer, mommy blogger, and former teacher. She retired from teaching after #ToddlerGoodwin was born to stay home with him and work on her writing.

Jess has published four romance/chick lit books. In 2011, her first two titles, Here We Go and The One Who Got Away appeared on the Amazon bestseller list alongside authors Debbie Macomber and Emily Giffin. In 2012, her third book, One of the Guys, received an Honorable Mention in Sapphire Star Publishing’s Month of Romance contest. Jess’ fourth novel, Clarissa Jean, Homecoming Queen, was published in May 2016.

Jess’ work has appeared on the sites Baby Gaga, Mommy Effect/Chocolate & Chaos, Tribe Magazine, Mamalode, and Scary Mommy. She has also been a remote content producer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, with articles being syndicated in several national news outlets.

 is currently the lobbyist for the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program, and portfolio management profession. In this role, he leads federal and international efforts to encourage the adoption of project management best practices by elected officials and policymakers that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of government projects and programs, which in turn reduces government waste and safeguards taxpayer dollars.

Prior to joining PMI, Tommy spent more than 15 years leading a wide range of federal and international government relations efforts, issue campaigns, and advocacy strategy work for several blue chip associations and corporations, including AARP and Oracle Corp. Additionally, he was a research fellow at Harvard Business School focused on the political and legal environment in which business operates.
